Education & Training

I studied Architecture at Polytechnic University of Valencia. During the course of my studies, driven by the desire of helping my colleagues and having a better knowledge of how the university works, I joined the Students Delegation, being a student representative and a member of the Senate for two years. Knowing that being a new student could be a very tough beginning, I decided to help them during my last year through a programme called “mentor student”.

It took me six years to finish the degree, obtaining the specialization of architectural heritage and achieving what I dreamt before starting architecture. Now, I am able to detect the pathology in buildings and provide solutions, as well as avoid problems in the future.

During my last year as a student, my restoring team (Darío Martos, Cristina Montaner, Jesús Capella, Gloria Bosch) and I published our work in a magazine called “Braçal”. It is a historical review about the Alqueria’s architecture, focusing on its tower-house from its construction to later interventions.

While I was working doing BER certificates, I increased my interest in learning more about zero energy building design and sustainability. In 2019, I took a course taught by Delft University of Technology about it.

Besides, every time I had the opportunity of assisting a conference, workshop, congress or seminar I took it. The most distinguished I assisted were “Congress regarding Term and Transformation in Historical Ensembles (II)”, “Andrea Palladio Seminar (1508-2008) International Commemoratives Conferences” and “International Workshop of Traditional Architecture in Rincón de Ademuz, Valencia (XIV)” in which I collaborated actively together with Fernando Vegas and Camilla Mileto, two awarded architects due to their excellent work in restoring and renovation .

In January of 2014 I finished my Thesis, a wine-tourism centre with pre-existence in La Portera, Valencia. The project collected renovation and landscape integration and, being as passionate as I am in these topics, it was the perfect one for me.

People usually say I have the faculty of explaining difficult topics in an easy way and I wanted to improve this skill and take advantage of the situation, so in September of 2014 I started a Master in Education of Arts. As I said before, I like merging my interests into the same project so my Thesis was about how to use Historical reenactment in museums in order to have a better knowledge in Art. I did this master while I was working as an architect performing BER certificates.

After finishing this Master and joining the Non Profit, I took some courses related to the habitat and sustainability: “Habitat’s Social Management”, “Social Intervention” an “Appropriate Technologies.”

Having performed BER certificates in the past, and due to my concern about Green Architecture, it was just a matter of time that I took some specialised courses in this area. One good example of this happened in September 2019 I participated in the MOOC Zero-Energy Design: an approach to make your building sustainable, organised by the Dutch University TU Delft. I also obtained a Certificate in Nearly Zero Energy Buildings, by the Limerick Institute of Technology.

Regarding my IT skills, I have learnt several programmes related to architecture as AutoCad, Revit, Vectoworks, SketchUp, 3d Studio, V Ray, Lumion, Photoshop and InDesign, as well as the complete Microsoft Office pack.
