Location: Valencia, Spain
Site Area: 875sqm
Total Area: 3.435 sqm

The requirements

  1. Building to be integrated into the area.
  2. Apartments to be rented for a short period.
  3. Open kitchen/ dining/ living room.
  4. One bedroom apartments.

The solution

The project is located in an important neighbourhood in the city centre, surrounded by a sort of old and new buildings. Integrating the project into the area was a high requirement.

The building was designed as two different volumes bound together to look as just one unique volume. The first volume is besides the party wall. It has a triple purpose: vertical communications (stairs and lifts), common areas where people can gather and chat, and it serves as a buffer from the neighbour.

The second volume is a big square, with a garden inside it, and a corridor on each floor to give access to the apartments. Each apartment is a duplex, creating an “L” using two different floors. In some apartments, the user has to go upstairs and, in others, downstairs.
